This application shows that Karl Edelmeyer appealed for permission to enter the United States in June 1917. After he had previously entered the United States in 1915, he filed a declaration of intention to become a citizen of the United States in 1916. He was initially barred from immigrating as an alien enemy. After being detained for several weeks, Edelmeyer was granted entry to the United States.
