This Carter Memorial Fountain was unveiled in Ashland, Oregon in 1909.
This cast iron statue (nicknamed Pioneer Mike and Iron Mike) and drinking fountain was erected by members of the local Carter Family in honor of their parents, founders of the Bank of Ashland and long-time Ashland business leaders. Their parents had moved to Ashland from Iowa in 1855.
