Mary Dublin, general secretary of the National Consumers' League, sent this letter to Senator Henry F. Ashurst urging him to vote against the "so-called Equal Rights Amendment." She wrote that the League will oppose the amendment "as long as millions of women need protection against long hours, low wages, and other unsatisfactory working conditions."
