This is the illustrated family record of Jacob Esser’s birth and baptism, or Geburts und Taufscheine. Esser, son of Jacob and Anna, submitted this fraktur with his application for a land warrant based upon his Revolutionary War service. Notice the winged creatures in the upper left and right corners. They appear in frakturs attributed to an artist identified only as the "Flying Angel Artist."
