This cartoon is from a folder entitled "The Travels of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, 32nd President of the United States, 1932 to 1940." The vibrant U.S. map shows a route from Albany, NY, to the western part of the country. Handwriting at the bottom says "Come one / Come All / To The / Western Campaign / Trip / …A. Smith." It shows: a portrait-style image of the Roosevelts at the top; Churchill's head as the sun under a rainbow at the top; the "Hoover Hotel" in the center, filled with displaced persons; FDR repeatedly in front of a crowd in the west; "H.R.H. / F.D.R." on the back of a camel in Phoenix; and FDR as an animal-trainer whipping donkeys to dance around an elephant "dunce" in the upper left. The artist's name is in the upper right: "Vonderlieth." It was possibly a gift to F.D.R. by Marguerite "Missy" LeHand.
