The original caption for this photograph reads: Two Korean orphan girls taste ice cream for the first time. The occasion was "Children's Day" in Korea, and many of the Marines at a forward airbase in Korea who couldn't be with their own children helped make the day brighter for many little orphans at an orphanage they helped build. It was the first time most of the orphans had eaten ice cream, but just like with American kids back home, the gallons disappeared fast. Marine Air Group 12 Chaplain Ernest R. Lineberger, (pictured) 26, Lumberton, N.C., supervisor of the party. His wife, Sarah, lives in Lumberton, N.C. He is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Ernest R. Lineberger, Sr., Lumberton.
