Johann Georg Peifer of Pennsylvania submitted these frakturs (illustrated family records) to prove his age and his marriage to Maria Schaferin, in support of his claim to a pension based upon intermittent service during the Revolutionary War. He claimed to be present at the battles of Germantown and Brandywine. Peifer could not prove he served for at least six months and did not qualify for a pension.
