This is the illustrated family record of John Moyer. To receive a pension for his 13 months’ service in Pulaski’s Legion of the Maryland Line during the Revolutionary War, Moyer submitted this record with his application for a pension. Note the German spelling of Moyer’s name: Meier. Based on a German tradition, many illustrated family records were written in German and are known as Fraktur.
