Pennsylvanian Philip Schwartz served in the Artillery Company of the Fourth Continental Regiment for the duration of the Revolutionary War. The state of Pennsylvania awarded him a land grant for his service. After his death, his wife, Margaret, submitted this illustrated family record (fraktur) in support of her claim to a widow’s pension. It is in German. Apparently her claim was rejected.
This primary source comes from the Records of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
