General Douglas MacArthur Parade in New York City

Crowds surge forward to places behind police lines in Times Square area. People throw paper and confetti from an office building. Large police motorcycle escort leads the parade down Broadway. CBS TV truck, newsmen and photographers move with the parade. Gen MacArthur passes in limousine seated with Mayor of New York, Vincent Impellitteri and Grover Whalen. The motorcade moves away from camera past recruiting station. Shots of large crowd walking in area after the parade. Sanitation Dept water trucks flush the street. Motorcade arrives at Waldorf-Astoria Hotel preceded by mounted police and row of drum majorettes, photographers. Fire Dept Band plays. Large crowd assembles and surrounds the general's car as it stops before the hotel. The police keep the crowd moving.
