This letter from A. G. Politis (the Greek Ambassador to the United States) to Secretary of State Dean Acheson includes an invitation to President Harry S. Truman and his family to visit Greece, following the end of the President's term of office in January, 1953. In the letter, Politis states, "On behalf of his King and Queen, the Ambassador also extends to the President the gratitude of the Greek people for the U.S. military and economic assistance rendered to Greece under the Truman Doctrine."
