This letter concerns residents of Warm Springs Reservation, Oregon, who were allegedly defrauded of their Columbia River fishing rights by having been deceived into signing a treaty in 1865. The letter discusses the Government's litigation, on behalf of Sam Williams and other Yakima Indians, against the Seufert Brothers Company, concerning the fishing controversy.
