National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) Associate Director Floyd Thompson sent this memorandum to all NACA facilities and stations. It notified them that the West Area Computers Unit was dissolved and listed those NACA employees who had worked in that unit and where they would be reassigned. NACA was the predecessor to NASA, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration; it was incorporated into NASA in 1958.

Subject: Change in research organization
1. Effective this date, the West Area Computer Unit is dissolved. The personnel formerly assigned to this unit are reassigned as follows:
