Margaret K. Bassett, president of the New Jersey Association Opposed to Woman Suffrage, sent this letter to Senator Duncan U. Fletcher, urging him to vote against the Susan B. Anthony Amendment (the 19th Amendment). She describes woman suffragists as pro-German and unpatriotic, and argues that "every energy should be devoted to winning the war."
