Pictured is one of the thousands of marchers who participated in the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963, in Washington, DC. As part of the rally, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., delivered his famous “I have a dream” speech. This photograph comes from the records of the U.S. Information Agency (USIA), which produced publications and films about American life for distribution in foreign countries.
