This document is a transcript of a November 6, 1956, conversation between President Dwight D. Eisenhower and British Prime Minister Anthony Eden. They discussed a cease-fire between British and Egyptian forces during the Suez Crisis. Following the nationalization of the British- and French-owned Suez Canal by Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, Britain, France, and Israel took military action against Egypt. However, due to international pressure, control of the Canal was returned to Egypt.
