This document comes from the court case United States of America v. William A. Anderson, et al. – the "Camden 28 case." The defendants, known as the Camden 28, were tried for breaking into the Camden, NJ, Federal Building’s fifth floor offices of the Camden Draft Board and destroying documents relating to the draft, and particularly A-1 draftees.
The 28 defendants were tried in 1973 and acquitted by the jury, despite admitting to having committed the crime and having been observed doing so by more than 40 FBI agents. The trial was viewed by many as a referendum on the Vietnam War.
