The original caption for this photo reads: Berlin, Germany (West): Angry West Berliners demonstrate in protest against the closing of the border between the east and west sectors of the city. The banner reads "There Is Only One Germany" and "Germany Remains German." After all other methods had failed to stop the growing flood of refugees leaving East Berlin and East Germany, the Communist regime suddenly closed the border 8-13-61.
