I do hereby certify that I was acquainted with a Negro Boy named Henry belonging to Benedict
Jones. And that runaway in the latter part of September 1842, he was then rather slender frame
and spare face not very black, to the best of my recollection

I the subscribe one of the Justices of the Peace in and for Cecil County, do certify that the above
named person is a resident of Cecil County. And that he was acquainted with. And a neighbour
of Benedict Jones, and that the above certificate was sworn too before me this 1[illegible]th day of
Oct AD. 1850

I hereby certify that John W. Morgan Esq. before whom the above affidavit was made, and who
has thereto subscribed his name, was at the time of taking and subscribing the same one of the
Justices of the Peace of the State of Maryland, on and for Cecil County, duly commissioned and
sworn.

I do hereby certify that I new a negro Boy named Henry belonging to Benedict Jones, and that
said boy runaway in the fall of 1842 The Boy to the best of my recollection was slender built
lean face and was not very black in colour.

& made oath to the above certificate and I do certify the same named person to be a resident of
said county and personally acquainted with the [illegible] Benedict Jones,
