The original caption for this photograph reads: Women Workers in Shoe Factory. Women have replaced men in shoe manufacturing plants and are operating many of the heavy machines. Women workers are shown sewing on bows. They are making fabric shoes which the women of the country are wearing so that leather can be utilized for the shoes of the men in service. Taken in factory of J. & T. Cousins Co., Brooklyn, New York.
