This film created by the U.S. Information Agency (USIA) commemorated the first anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It reflects on the early impact of the law’s implementation. Guests include NAACP Executive Secretary Roy Wilkins, former Florida Governor LeRoy Collins, and Washington Director of the National Urban League Sterling Tucker.

This film uses the term “negro” to refer to Black people, which was commonly accepted in that era, but is outdated and inappropriate today.
