This illustration entitled, "In the Limelight", by cartoonist Clifford Berryman, which appeared in the Washington Post on April 12, 1905, depicts a portrait of Henry Clay Frick, an industrialist who became a very wealthy man in the steel industry, which brought him into the political limelight. Henry Clay Frick was quick to realize that the new Bessemer process for making steel would require great amounts of coal. He was able to buy may coal fields in Pennsylvania and became a rich man at an early age. In partnership with Andrew Carnegie, his fortune grew even larger. When Carnegie sold out to the newly formed U.S. Steel Corp in 1903 Frick became immensely wealthy. This brought him even more into the limelight. He was a great art collector and later left a large collection.
