The Father Pierre Gibault Statue by Albin Polasek was erected in Vincennes, IN in 1934.
The bronze statue depicts an eight-foot tall robed priest holding a cross and a parchment. The base of the statue is inscribed with “Gibault” on its north side; its south side is inscribed with "Pierre Gibault — 1737 - 1804 — Vicar-General of the Illinois Country Who in 1778 gained the allegiance to the United States of the French Population of Vincennes."
