This is an illustrated family record written in English. The bird and leaf motif that adorns it is common to frakturs. The name of the artist, James Anson, is recorded at the bottom. He was a noted fraktur artist who worked in New Jersey between 1804 and 1809.
An 1815 newspaper is attached to the back (not shown). The newspaper contains a notice by a man that his wife had eloped and gives a warning that he would pay no debts contracted by her.
