The Guidon Club sent this petition to Congress asking them to oppose the woman suffrage amendment. The president, Mrs. John Jerome Rooney, wrote that the club was opposed to the Federal amendment for women's suffrage because of their belief that laws about voting rights should be controlled by individual states.
