Cartoonist Clifford Berryman helps promote the war effort. His famous character Uncle Sam directs Berryman's equally famous Teddy Bear to take down pictures of the nation's current Public Enemies No. 1 (John Dillinger, "Pretty Boy" Floyd, Arthur Barker, Alvin Karpis and "Baby Face" Nelson) and replace them with pictures of the current public enemies. The new enemies are those who could sabotage the war effort by demoralizing others with their negative talk.
