This video shows President Reagan's first major trip outside the United States to attend the Economic Summit Conference and to visit four allies. He develops two of his most important foreign policy concerns: economic and security relations.
The film highlights the President's attendance at the Summit Conference, his speech to the British Parliament, and the NATO conference in Bonn. It also presents a post-trip analysis with Hugh Sidey interviewing Robert Hormats, assistant secretary of state for economic and business affairs, and Richard Burt, the assistant secretary of state for European affairs.
