The Soldiers and Sailors Monument by Lewis Haldy was unveiled in 1874 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Designed to honor the Union Soldiers from Lancaster that served during the Civil War, it has since been used to represent those that have served in more recent conflicts. Atop the central shaft is a allegorical female figure of Liberty holding a shield and sword. At its base, figures representing the Navy, Infantry, Artillery and Cavalry of the Army stand.
