The original caption for this photograph reads: Operation "Kolekole," a search and destroy mission against Viet Cong, is conducted by elements of the 27th Inf., 2nd Bde, 25th Inf Div. in Tinh Nghia province, approximately 17 km southwest of Cu Chi and east of the Oriental River. Sp4 Ralph Smith (Pink Hill, NC), squad leader, and other members of 1st Plt. Co C, take a break prior to entering and searching a village.
